Schlitterbahn New Braunfels TX – The Original & Best Waterpark

Schlitterbahn New Braunfels – The Original!

As the oldest Schlitterbahn Waterpark, the New Braunfels location has held the title of the #1 waterpark in the world for fifteen consecutive years, and boasts over 40 attraction spread over 70 acres of land. This flagship location was the first of many Schlitterbahn Waterparks to follow and set the precedence of waterpark design all over the world.

The waterpark started in 1979 with four waterslides that started from a German-style tower. The original tower was built on a hill behind next to founder Jeff Henry’s riverfront resort. Designed after the Bergfreid Guard Tower at the Solms Castle in New Braunfels, Germany, this was one of the first waterparks that supported the waterpark resort concept, and would be a model for many waterparks to come.

Schlitterbahn New Braunfels is open weekends only beginning April 27th, and opens daily May 16th-September 2nd. From September 7-22 the park is open on weekends only and then closes for the season. Ticket prices for this spectacular park are $49.99 for adults and $39.99 for seniors and children ages 3-11. Children under 3 are admitted to the park for free and there are discounts available for afternoon and 2-day passes. Parking at Schlitterbahn New Braunfels is free and always will be.

  • Surfenburg

Dragon’s Revenge, the first uphill water coaster is in this section of the park and was voted “Best New Waterpark Ride” for three years in a row. The Kristal River is another section in Surfenburg that goes in a circle. There is also a giant kid’s area in this area called Squirt n Sliden.

  •  Blastenhoff

This area of Schlitterbahn is home to the Master Blaster, which is the most popular ride in Schlitterbahn history. Surrounding the entire tower is a wave pool for the perfect endless wave.

  • Tubenbach

This pioneer in waterparks not only has some of the most amazing features in waterpark design but has also been a longstanding pioneer in conservation efforts. Schlitterbahn’s commitment to the environment began with the first designs of the park that were made to flow through the trees. Almost 100% of the water at Schlitterbahn is recycled and their commitment to water conservation has been duplicated across the globe.

This is especially important in New Braunfels, which is experiencing drought like conditions and receiving little rainfall. All employees are educated in the importance of water conservation and every effort is made to use as little water as necessary and still provide a place for people to experience the enjoyment a waterpark brings. There are also recycling containers throughout the entire park and Schlitterbahn constantly looks for every way to reduce, reuse, and recycle.
